Road Construction Project Manager Training Module

Currently, in a “well-known” road construction company, there is no formal training for project managers. This can cause backlogs of documents, lost money, frustrated coworkers, aggravated customers, safety violations, and countless other issues. The need for a training module was evident from the first meeting with the subject matter expert (SME).

I worked closely with the SME to determine the overarching problem that they are facing in the field. It was determined that the goal would be to acclimate new hire employees to their job responsibilities by increasing insight, adaptability, and resourcefulness.

In collaboration with the SME, the storyboard was born for this immersive first-day on-the-job training module. We discussed current roadblocks that project managers are facing and the possible actions they can take along with the corresponding outcome that would occur. Upon receiving the official green light on the storyboard I moved forward with product development. I edited road construction images using Adobe Illustrator and drafted the learning module within Articulate Storyline 360.

The module was sent to testing in-house and then sent out for final approval from the SME. The SME sent minor tweaks that they wanted before implementing the module with the project managers.
